Robert Pożarski

A singer and scholar of medieval manuscripts who has studied the interpretations of medieval chorale music, among others in Paris under the tutelage of Marcel Pérès. Since 1995 he has been a member of the band Bornus Consort, as well as being a cantor of the Schola at the Theatre of Węgajty, where, as its music director, he produced the medieval liturgical dramas Ordo stellae, Ordo annuntiationis, and Planctus Mariae, as well as the performance of Miracula sancti Nicolai. He has also produced a phonographic recording of two medieval offices in verse dedicated to Saint Stanislaus and Saint Adalbert, respectively. In 2012 he started a cyclical musical project entitled Sarmatian Chorale, as part of which he developed and publicly presented three concert programmes: “G.G. Gorczycki and the Piotrków Chorale,” “Castrum Doloris – Old Polish Funeral Ceremonies,” and „Parvule Pupule – Sarmatian Christmas.” All these programmes have been released on CDs. He is the cantor of the Post-camaldolese Church on the grounds of the Bielany Forest Reserve in Warsaw, as well as the cantor and artistic director of the Schola Gregoriana Silensiensis in Wrocław, the cantor of the female Schola Mulierum Silensiensis, and, since 2015, he has also been collaborating closely with Schola Gregoriana Gedanensis. He can boast of over 20 CD recordings of medieval, baroque, and contemporary music.
