Jankees Braaksma

Studied recorder at the conservatories of Groningen and Amsterdam and medieval music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. He performed in most European countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Tsjech Republic, Italy and Greece.

Jankees also plays the organetto (a small medieval organ) and a larger medieval organ, reconstructed after the 12th c. treatise by Theophilus.  The study of ancient and modern improvisation practices colours the performances  by his ensemble Super Librum: www.superlibrum.nl This prizewinning ensemble Super Librum appeared at most European early music festivals. Jankees Braaksma is guest teacher medieval improvisation at conservatories in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
