Elisabeth Holmer

Elisabeth Holmer studied singing with Professor Marina Sandel at the Hanover University of Music and Drama. In addition, she completed the study programs Singing / Singing Education and Speech Science / Phonetics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
She performs her active concert activities throughout Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Korea and the USA. She works together with well-known orchestras, conductors and composers. As a member of the ensemble Transitplace the singer dedicates herself to the exciting liaison of baroque music and modern improvisation. Numerous recitals and performances at various music festivals enrich her concert work. Engagements led the mezzo-soprano to the Staatstheater Kassel, the Chemnitz Opera, the Landestheater Linz / Austria, the Landesbühnen Sachsen, the Theater Konstanz, Gera, Annaberg and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. Her repertoire includes large sections of her subject ranging from baroque to contemporary opera. As a permanent member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater Kassel, she worked inter alia as Emma in the German premiere of Edward Rushton’s opera “Harley” and was praised for her design of King Oreb in N. Porporas “Il Gedeone” by the journal “Opernwelt” as a “magnificent coloratura singer”. Since 2009, Elisabeth Holmer has been a professor for the subjects Stage Performance / Scene Studies at the Academy of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden.
