Agnieszka Światkowska

Agnieszka was born in Gdansk (Poland) and started playing violin at the age of 7. While studying modern violin at Gdańsk Academy of Music she discovered her passion for historical performance and moved to Amsterdam  to study baroque violin with prof. Lucy van Dael, concluding with Bachelor degree in 2008 and Master degree in 2010.  She is a laureate of the prestigious awards at music competitions such as “Telemann Chamber Music Competition” in Magdeburg ( ensemble “La Follia” in 2007) and  “Van Wassenaer  Chamber Music Competition” in Amsterdam ( “Ensemble Odyssee” in 2011). Agnieszka also received scholarships funded by the Mayor of the city of Gdańsk (2003), I Giovanni dell’ Academia Montis Regalis (2008), Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment (2010).

She has performed widely in Poland, France, Germany, Holland, England,  Italy, Switzerland, Georgia, Spain and Venezuela with solo recitals and as a member of  such ensembles and orchestras as Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment (conducted by V. Jurowski, B. Labadie), Holland Baroque Society, Academia Montis Regalis (A. de Marchi), Capella Cracoviensis (C. Rousset), Barok Opera Amsterdam, Orquesta Barroca Juvenil Simón Bolivar (A. Bernardini) and many more. She attended master classes with many artists, among them Enrico Onofri, Rachel Podger, Amandine Beyer, Alessandro Tampieri, Luigi Mangiocavallo, Alfredo Bernardini and since 2011  began to lead master classes in Georgia and Venezuela. Agnieszka has recorded for Hyperion and Pan Classics.
