Agnieszka Budzińska- Bennett

Starting with a piano diploma, she decided to study musicology at the UAM (Ph.D. 2010) and early voice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (R. Levitt, D. Vellard, E. Tubb) where she currently lives and works. She also studied with E. Kirkby, B. Thornton and B. Bagby. Employed at the Microfilm Archive of the Musicological Institute of Basel University (2001-4). She’s the artistic director of the ensemble Peregrina specializing in medieval music. The group has so far recorded nine albums that gained the international critical acclaim (ECHO-KLASSIK 2009). As a member of many early music groups, she performs at the most important music festivals across Europe, Asia and the USA. She works also as a guest conductor by the Polish Radio Choir and records regularly for Raumklang, Glossa, Ramée, Brilliant Classics (over 20 albums). Agnieszka has lectured on the music of the 12th century at the SCB (2002/3) and belonged to the research faculty of this institution (2011-13). She taught Gregorian chant and music history at the Musikhochschule Trossingen (2013-15) and at the SCB (2016/7) Her other activities also include guest lectures and master classes in Poland, Germany and the USA.
